Jo Ann is a native Atlantan and 5th generation Georgian with roots that go back to Fannin, Pickens and Gilmer Counties! She has lived with her husband, Dan, on Lake Blue Ridge in Fannin County since 2007. Jo Ann and Dan were school classmates who reconnected at their 35th high school reunion, after never having a single date!  Together they have four sons who reside with their families in Roswell, GA. While JoAnn is a University of Georgia grad and a huge Dawg fan, theirs is a house divided – Dan played football at Georgia Tech! Their “pack” also includes Lacy, a Shih Tzu-Schnauzer, Sadie, a black and tan coon hound and Ash, a Siberian Husky, all of whom love boat rides and company!

Jo Ann’s career in finance and marketing took her to Chicago, Denver, New Jersey and Philadelphia. She retired in 2010 to be able to take advantage of traveling with Dan, for his work. She currently works part-time at a women’s boutique in downtown Blue Ridge, where she does merchandising and buying. She also serves on the boards of North Georgia Mountain Crisis Network and Old Toccoa Farm Ladies Golf Association. Her hobbies include gardening, golfing, reading and entertaining, but what she loves most is traveling!

Jo Ann was attracted to Impact100 Fannin after hearing about the model of women joining together to make a difference in their community.  She had been trying to figure out how to get involved after moving to Blue Ridge full time in December, 2020.  Dan and she had also been pondering how to direct their resources to support Fannin County.  They decided that Impact100 Fannin was the perfect solution!  Jo Ann was immediately involved in a leadership role and became immersed in a life-changing experience, meeting many wonderful women and watching the fruits of their labor become a reality. Her commitment to Impact100 Fannin now includes wanting to share this wonderful experience with other women, to bring them the same fulfillment she has found!
