Cindy was born in Chicago, grew up in Memphis, but returned to the Chicago area (Arlington Heights) as a freshman in high school. She attended the University of Illinois where she majored in Health and Physical Education. After graduating, she taught and coached at a Junior High School in Skokie, IL for 10 years. Shortly before getting her teaching position, she married her high school sweetheart, Rick Glueckert! Their daughter, Lindsey, was born in 1979!  In early 1980 they moved to Marietta, GA but only for 1 year, moving to Memphis in 1981.  Their son, Jim, was born in 1981!  One year later they moved back to Atlanta where they lived for 40 years.  In Atlanta, Cindy taught and coached at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian School for 22 years and also coached at Riverwood High School.  She refereed recreational and high school basketball for many years in the Atlanta area. While Cindy retired in 2013, Rick continued working in Atlanta. However, they moved their main residence to Blue Ridge where they reside today! Cindy and Rick have spent their time in Blue Ridge serving on several boards, including HSBR, LBRCA, the Arts Association, Veteran’s Assistance Foundation, and Impact100 Fannin!
